Honest Review: Molecule-R’s Margarita R-Evolution Cocktail Kit Review
One may think since my husband is a
mechanic, his passion lies in all things with a motor. Although he is
extremely fond of cars and sport bikes, his heart actually resides in
the kitchen. I have never met someone with such natural cooking talent.
Not only can this man take random ingredients that we have around the
house and create something of restaurant quality, but he is fully self
taught. No school, no classes, no fancy chef mentors, just him and the
occasional television cooking show. He WILL
own a restaurant someday. I am now so spoiled that I refuse to order a
steak in a restaurant because I have left knowing I could have received a
better one at home far too many times! From Indian food to a casserole
called Marcie, my husband is a true chef.

When I recently had the opportunity to try a DIY molecular gastronomy kit from Molecule-R, I instantly knew it would be an experience that my husband would really enjoy. Molecular gastronomy can be defined as the fusion of food science and culinary arts.
New technologies and natural texturing agents can now be used to
deconstruct any dishes and cocktails, enabling one to serve mojito
bubbles and martini bites, as well as balsamic vinegar pearls and
chocolate spaghetti. What a great way to make food fun!
We were sent the Margarita R-Evolution kit,
which is part of the new Molecule-R cocktail kits line. The kit allows
you to make three different avant garde mixology recipes including a
citrus foam to top any margarita (pictured above), floating
suspended blue azure pearls to add a splash of color to your drink and a
margarita spherification, which would turn your cocktail into an edible
bite. The kit includes a variety of pre-measured sachets of natural
food additives which aid in creating your scientific cocktails, the
essential molecular gastronomy cocktail tools including pipettes, a
slotted spoon and a silicone mold, and a booklet with all three
molecular margarita recipes.
My husband was so excited to create some unique margaritas to compliment a date night dinner in. We had our vodka (in lieu of tequila)
and our margarita mix ready to go, but unfortunately upon reading the
instructions, we soon realized that a hand blender is needed for all
three recipes in the Margarita R-Evolution kit,
which is a kitchen tool we astonishingly do not own. I plan to pick one
up this weekend so we can enjoy our upscale margaritas paired with some
carne asada tacos and fresh re-fried beans next week! I am also planning
to surprise my husband with the Molecule-R Cuisine R-Evolution kit so
he can continue to further his culinary skills while pursuing his true
passion.
